Committee for the Care and Treatment of Captured Aborigines

The Committee was commissioned by Governor Arthur in 1829. It became known as the “Aborigines Committee” (by 20 January 1831). It functioned as a committee for care and treatment of the captured Aborigines. On 19 March 1830 because of increasing problems, the Committee reported on the “origin of the hostility displayed by the Black Natives of this Island against the settlers”.
