Records name, age, ship to colony, date of admission, disease and details of treatment. This series probably commenced in January 1845. A separate volume was used for each of the 4 categories of inmate (male and female, mental and physical disease). The volumes were numbered in a single sequence, with further volumes allocated to each category as required. The original volume numbers are recorded on the Inventory as there are references to earlier and later treatment in the form of volume and folio numbers at the start and end of some entries. The series ends at what was originally volume 13. By December 1854 only mental patients were treated at New Norfolk and record-keeping was apparently decentralised to the male and female wards. These records are part of the holdings of the Tasmanian Archives
