The Creswick “Old” Cemetery was in operation possibly between 1851 until December 1858 when the Clunes Road cemetery was officially opened. Often referred to as the “Chinese Cemetery” this site was used by everyone to bury their loved ones.
The New Cemetery was established in 1858 and all burials after December 20th, 1858, were buried at this site. The Cemetery has over 12,500 burials.
