The barque LADY MARY PELHAM put into Nepean Bay on 30 July 1836. She was under the command of Captain Robert Ross and had sailed from Liverpool on 30 March 1836. (Another source said she left England on 7 April). The vessel was equipped for whaling and had a crew of 23. Six passengers were on board as well, and they all worked for the South Australian Company.
