The 189-ton DUKE OF YORK was a whaling and trading bark owned by the South Australia Company. She was under the command of Captain Robert Clark(e) Morgan and left London on 24 February 1836, equipped for whaling. (Another source said she left England on 5 April). She reached Kangaroo Island on 27, July 1836.
