Land Orders 1861-1874

The Queensland Land Orders 1861-1874 index was compiled from several different registers relating to land orders, which were created and used by the immigration department of the Australian state of Queensland. Under Queensland legislation, land order claims could be made for the passage to Queensland by either the immigrant themselves or by others who were providing their passage. This index was drawn from registers which recorded the land orders issued to immigrants after they had completed their obligations under various immigration laws and regulations in force in 1860s Queensland.
