The Queensland Register of Immigrants 1864-1878 index was compiled from registers kept by the assistant immigration agent in the town of Toowoomba, in the Darling Downs region of Queensland, Australia. Maintained between 1864 and 1878, this register contained details of applications for passage certificates for immigration that were registered in Toowoomba. Usually this involved noting information such as the date, the immigrant’s name and age, their trade, their country of origin, the amount paid for the application, the name of the depositor, and various notes.
