The Queensland Passport Registers 1926-1939 indexes were compiled from records created and used by the immigration department of Queensland relating to passport clearance registers and passport receipts. These indexes record the names of immigrants arriving in Queensland as well as their later disembarkation from the state. The passport clearance registers used to compile this index date from 1926 to 1935. These records show details such as the immigrant’s name, departure date, and reason for leaving, as well as the ship’s name, schedule number, and whether the passenger had any intention of returning to Queensland. However, in August-September 1929, they began to also record details such as the number of souls the ship carried and other remarks.
