The Royal Marines served in the Colony between 1788 and 1790, after which the New South Wales Corps (Rum Corps) took over for the 20 years up to 1810. After the New South Wales Corps were ousted in 1810 there were twenty-four British Regiments that served in Australia between 1810 and 1870, two of those doing 2 tours. Of these, there were nine regiments that served in Western Australia for varying lengths of time. This list does not include Enrolled Pensioner Guards as such.
