St. John’s Parramatta, Marriages, 1790-1966

This collection includes marriage records from the parish dating back to 1790. Marriage records varied in format and in the information included, but you may find details such as the bride and groom’s names, ages (and/or possibly dates of birth), birthplaces, residences, occupations, date and location of the marriage, names of witnesses, condition (bachelor, spinster, widow, or widower), parents’ names, parents’ occupations, and the name of the officiant. The early records may contain less detail. You may also find records of banns read, and while these will include less detail, you’ll find the date the banns were first published, names of the parties, and their residences.
