Burnside Public Library, Local History Collection

Description

Burnside Library holds an extensive collection of books, maps, original documents, photographs, pictures, and artefacts relating to the history of the Burnside council area. From Minutes to Maps to photographs to Biographical sources, the Collection is extensive and covers from August 1856, the foundation of Burnside, to the present day.

Catalogue & Index to the collection may be searched by either: (i) The Card Index in the Local History Room Card Catalogue. This Manual Card Index Box covers major periods, people and events. (ii) The online Library Catalogue, which also includes a wider range of material from the early 1800s to the present day.

The historical material is arranged into 11 collections and can be accessed in the Local History Room:
