Alice Springs Public Library Special Collection

Description

The Alice Springs Col­lec­tion is a spe­cial col­lec­tion of mate­ri­als which relate to the his­tor­i­cal, sci­en­tif­ic and cul­tur­al her­itage of Cen­tral Aus­tralia. It is a ref­er­ence col­lec­tion and items are not avail­able for loan but can be viewed in the Library dur­ing reg­u­lar open­ing hours.

The Alice Springs Col­lec­tion also has a sig­nif­i­cant dig­i­tal col­lec­tion and holds edi­tions of the Cen­tralian Advo­cate, from 1947 – 2015, in PDF for­mat and over 6000 images, most of which are from the Cen­tral Aus­tralian His­tor­i­cal Images Col­lec­tion, on an intranet sys­tem avail­able on com­put­ers inside the col­lec­tion room.

Ref­er­ence inquiries can be for­ward­ed to the Spe­cial Col­lec­tions Coor­di­na­tor via library@​astc.​nt.​gov.​au or phone between 8 am-6 pm Monday-Friday.

Open­ing Hours: Mon-Fri 10am-6pm; Sat-Sun 10am-1pm.
