Established in 1978, the Yorke Peninsula Family History Group is the first branch of the South Australian Genealogy & Heraldry Society Inc.

The group was formed at Kadina for the benefit of members living in the area, which because of the distance involved, could not attend the Society’s meetings in Adelaide.

The group maintain a local history room at the Copper Coast Library TAFE Complex and meet there on the first Thursday of each month (February to December)at 2 pm.

A YPFHG volunteer is on duty to deal with research enquiries at the library each Tuesday morning 10 am-12 noon and Wednesday afternoons 2-4 pm or by appointment.  There is a research fee.
