Tumut Family History Group Inc.
Description
Established in 1980, the Tumut Family History Group is an organisation that aims to assist people who are researching their family history, local history or the pioneering families of the region.
Tumut is in the foothills of the Northern end of the Snowy Mountains, part of the Great Dividing Range, in Southern New South Wales. It is approximately 35 km East of Gundagai, and approximately 100 km ‘as the crow flies’ South West of Canberra.
Places in the District covered by the T.F.H.G. Inc. include the towns, former villages and rural localities of Adelong Batlow Talbingo Grahamstown Shepardstown Kiandra Adjungbilly Blowering Bombowlee Bongongo Brungle Darbalara Gocup Lacmalac Mundongo Sharp’s Creek Tumut Plains Wagragobilly and Yarrangobilly.
