The centre for local history research in York. The facility, opened in 2013, houses an extensive local history reference library for family and local history research.

Resources for research include:

• An extensive range of Reference Books relating to families and the social and cultural history of the York district
• Births, Deaths and Marriages
• Cemetery Records for the York area
• Historical Maps and Plans of York and Districts
• Historical Newspapers from the late 1870s to the present, hardcopy and film. : Eastern Districts Chronicle, The York Chronicle etc.
• Copies of York Shire and Roads board ratebooks.
