The SCEGGS Archives contain a rich source of fascinating and useful information about the School, its students, staff and community. Dating from 1894 with the initial minutes of the Interim Committee who hoped to form a ‘Girls’ High School’ for the Sydney Diocese of the Church of England, the collection contains everything from written and photographic material, uniforms and sporting equipment, memorabilia and oral histories. An almost complete set of Council and later Board minutes dating from 1895, School magazines since 1900, and building and architectural plans are held in the SCEGGS Archives.
The Archives collects SCEGGS Darlinghurst historical and administrative records, photographs, audiovisual material and memorabilia.
The Archives also collects material associated with:
- SCEGGS Bowral, 1906-1929
- SCEGGS Moss Vale, 1930-1974
- SCEGGS Hunters Hill, 1912-1915
- SCEGGS North Sydney, 1911-1941
- SCEGGS Leura Emergency School, 1942 and
- SCEGGS Bellevue Hill Preparatory School, 1965-1983.
The Archive is open by appointment on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays 9 am-4 pm. Closed during school holidays.
Access to all official records is restricted, except with the authorisation of the Head of School. Permission can be sought by contacting the archivist.
