Description
The Shoalhaven Family History Society Inc. was formed in 1985 to promote and encourage the study and preservation of family history, genealogy and allied subjects. It is a dynamic society, able to offer to members the use of an extensive collection of genealogical resource material, local, Australia wide and overseas, as well as a fund of skill and expertise.
The Society offers members:
- An extensive genealogical library
- Help and advice from fellow enthusiasts
- Issues of the Society’s journal, the TIME TRAVELLER
- Meetings, seminars and social activities
- Publications and charts for sale.
The Research Centre is open the 1st & 2nd Thursday of the month and every Sunday, both days 10 am to 4 pm except the winter months. During the months of June, July & August the library will close at 3 pm if no one is researching. The Centre is normally closed on the Sunday of Public Holiday weekends. The numerous facilities are available free to members and non-members may use the research facilities at a cost of $10 per session with the assistance of the volunteers on duty.
