The Rockhampton & District Historical Society Inc. is the second longest-running Society in Queensland. They are a family history museum pertaining to local families of the city. Their large print collection is often used by researchers for family history and local history research. They also have a large documented textile collection.

Materials in the collection are connected with the Fitzroy River and related activities.
