Pymble Ladies College (PLC) Archives Sydney

Description

Pymble Ladies’ College is associated with the Uniting Church in Australia and caters for girls in five schools on the one campus. Originally known as the Presbyterian Ladies’ College Pymble (or PLC Pymble), it was founded in 1916 as a branch of Presbyterian Ladies’ College, Croydon.

In 1919, the College was dedicated as the property of the Presbyterian Church of New South Wales ‘for the higher education of girls and their moral and religious upbringing’.

After the establishment of the Uniting Church in Australia in 1977, which saw the coming together of the Methodist, Presbyterian and Congregational Churches, PLC Pymble became Pymble Ladies’ College.

Their holdings include:

  • The history of Pymble Ladies College.
  • Official and administrative records of the board and college administration.
  • Records donated by staff and students.
  • Records of organisations associated with the college.
