Narre Warren & District Family History Group Inc. is a volunteer, non-profit group whose primary aim is to support both family and local history within the City of Casey and the Shire of Cardinia. they serve the communities of Narre Warren, Narre Warren North and East, Berwick, Harkaway, Pakenham, Cranbourne, Beaconsfield and surrounding areas.
Narre Warren & District Family History Group is happy to provide guest speakers and conduct cemetery tours or talks for groups, as well as providing assistance with local and family history research and participating in local and family history events.
Their research room is manned by two volunteers at each session who can help you with your research and the use of the computers and family history software. They have 6 computers plus a microfiche reader and microfiche, books, magazines, newsletters and various other resources. All their resources are catalogued and their volunteers are there to help you find the resources you’re looking for.
*Please note that on the third Saturday of the month during May, June, July, August and September the Research Room will close at 1.30 pm to allow the volunteers on duty to attend the general meeting.
It’s not necessary to be a member to use the facilities, as the Group happily accommodates visitors in the research room and their volunteers will offer the same guidance and help to every visitor as they do members. Cost is a $5 visitor’s fee per session.
