Muswellbrook Shire Local & Family History Society Inc. objectives are:
- To collect, preserve and promote the social, cultural and physical history of Muswellbrook and the Upper Hunter region, its environs and its people, for future generations.
- To promote public access to our collection and research facilities.
- To promote information, advice and assistance to individuals, community groups, organizations and businesses.
The Society maintains its records and a small museum in a room adjacent to the Community Room at the rear of the Muswellbrook Library at 126 Bridge Street, Muswellbrook. The Society is opened every Saturday from 9.30 am – 12.30 pm. The Society may be opened at other times by appointment if resources permit. Interested groups are most welcome. An opening fee of $10.00 applies.
Research is undertaken in the Society’s Room.
Cost: Members – Free. Non-Members – $7.00 per session. Commercial Fee – $25.00 Per Hour
Mail Inquiries: – Members outside the Muswellbrook & Upper Hunter area are allowed 2 hours free research by the research officer in any calendar year, there after $10.00 per hour. Note that members may carry out free research for other members.
Non-Member mail Inquiries: $12.50 Per Hour.
