Mount Rouse and District Historical Society
Description
The Mount Rouse and District Historical Society was formed in 1973 by a group of local residents with a common interest in the preservation of Historical material. The Society collects, catalogues, files and maintains Historical Records, Maps and Photographs and makes them available for public access in the Society’s rooms at the old Penshurst courthouse.
The Society’s holdings include:
- Individual files on local families, businesses and trades, properties, sports clubs, etc.
- Various published family histories.
- Local cemetery records.
- Local & Parish Maps.
- Photographic Collection.
- Penshurst Free Press.
- Mount Rouse Shire Rates.
The courthouse is open to the public on the first Saturday of every month from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. or by appointment.
