Liverpool & District Family History Society Inc. was formed in 1987 and incorporated in 1989. In 2003 the Society changed its name to the Liverpool Genealogy Society Inc.

​The Liverpool Genealogy Society Inc. has an interest in preserving, promoting and providing access to a wide range of family history resources. Located within the Liverpool Regional Family History Centre, the society works in partnership with Liverpool City Council to provide a first-class family history service.

The members of the Liverpool Genealogy Society Inc. volunteer, by providing assistance and encouragement to all visitors to the Liverpool Regional Family History Centre.
