Library & Archives NT

Description

The Northern Territory Library and NT Archives Service have joined forces to become a new branch within the Department of Tourism, Sport and Culture: Library & Archives NT.

The Northern Territory Archives Service (NTAS) preserves and manages government and community archives. The NTAS gives you access to these collections at the Northern Territory Archives Centres in Darwin and Alice Springs.

NTAS holds Northern Territory Government and community archival records.

Archives Navigator will help you search through these archives. Go to Archives Navigator.

As archives are continually being added to the system, check the list of holdings PDF (901.6 KB) for a complete list of series held by the NTAS, including inherited Commonwealth series.

To search for oral history interviews go to the online index.

Make sure you complement your research by using other tools such as the information leaflets and subject guides.

Open Monday to Friday 8.00am to 4.30pm. The reading room is open from Tuesday to Friday 9.00am to 4.30pm, closed Mondays and public holidays.
