Description
The Genealogical Society of Victoria (GSV) is a not-for-profit organization formed in 1941 to encourage and assist people with their family histories. This mission continues today with members from throughout Australia and overseas.
Their team of volunteers is keen to share their expertise and detective skills with newcomers. They will help you to use online resources effectively while raising awareness of the vast range of non-digitized records available in their library and elsewhere.

The GSV seeks to educate its members about genealogy, so take advantage and,

The GSV holds over 30,000 titles, including books, microforms, CDs and computer databases, pamphlets, maps and periodicals. Their unique collection includes indexes and images of births, deaths and marriages, passenger lists, census, cemetery, probate, occupations, convicts, family histories, local histories, directories, and much, much more. The collection covers all states of Australia, New Zealand, the British Isles, Europe, North America and the rest of the world.
