Genealogical Society Gladstone District Inc.

Description

Genealogical Society Gladstone District Inc. has been operating in Gladstone, Queensland since February 1984.

The objective of the Society is:

  • To foster a spirit of friendliness and co-operation and to give assistance to members through mutual sharing of information, procedures, techniques and through application with other similar organisations.
  • To promote the study, practice and preservation of genealogy, heraldry family and local history, and allied subjects.
  • To provide a genealogy and local history reference and research service to the general public.

In 1929 the Gladstone Region included: Boyne Valley, Many Peaks, Littlemore, Ubobo, Nagoorin, Glassford Creek, Norton, Mount Jacob, Calliope, Beecher, Burua, Benaraby, Mount Larcom, Yarwun, Targinnie, Raglan, Miriam Vale, Bororen, Iveragh. (These districts were named in 1929 Gladstone Observer). The Gladstone Region now extends from Rosedale in the south, to Raglan in the north and west to Many Peaks.

Open Monday: 7.00 to 9.00pm; Wednesday: 9.30am to 3.30pm; Saturday: 1.30 to 3.30pm.
