Echuca Historical Society

Description

Echuca Historical Society Inc has been operating since 1960 focusing on the settlement of Echuca, Victoria and Moama, New South Wales. The society runs a museum and has a priceless collection of the riverboat era and early life in Echuca.

The society holds a large collection of paper-based archives including early council rates, newspapers and documents; photographs and objects.

A Research Database is available for download in three sections which records names in their records.

Please note: Due to the nature of the Soiety’s archives self-research is not possible.

Research Fee $30 first enquiry. Further research may incur charges @ $30 per hour,
however the client will be advised prior to any further work being done.

Photocopy sheets $1 each.

All enquiries incur a $30 basic research fee with no guarantee that information will be found.

It is important to provide as much detail as possible (e.g. dates, names, locations, etc). This will help to establish the correct family / property details are provided. It takes at least a couple of hours to locate a connection to enquiries and even longer in searching rates notices and newspaper articles.
