Bega Valley Genealogy Society

Description

Interest in Genealogy was a relatively new phenomenon when 28 members formed their Society on 1st August 1987.

Members and visitors are welcome to use the Bega Valley Genealogy Society’s research services and extensive library which is continually expanding. They have:

  • A large local section with books indexed for surnames
  • Surnames index
  • Microfiche readers
  • Microfilm readers
  • Local newspapers on microfilm
  • Five computers holding over 300 CDs
  • BDM indexes for all Australian states
  • ‘Family Search’ for international births and marriages
  • Internet access to many free, family history sites
  • ‘Find My Past’, covering UK, Scottish Census, Ireland, Australasia, the World (all of them) plus USA & Canada
  • British Newspapers on the Internet

The Bega Valley Genealogy Society Library is open Tuesdays 1 pm – 4 pm; Thursdays 9.30 am – 12.30 pm; Saturdays 1 pm – 4 pm.

Non-members $10 per session.

FREE Session: For any member of the General Public wishing to use ‘Family Search ONLY’ on Computer 3.
