The Bathurst Family History Group Inc. (BFHG) was founded in 1984 by a small number of people who wanted to help each other to make progress with their family history research.

Bathurst is the oldest inland settlement in Australia and is located about 200 km west of Sydney.

Members and non-members have access to the group’s extensive range of resources including books and journals, microfiche and CD-ROMs in their Family History Centre located at 176 Rankin St., up Flanagan’s Ln., behind the Senior Citizens Centre.

Open Monday and Thursday’s from 10 am to 1 pm; Tuesday’s from 2-4 pm (by appointment) and 7-9 pm.

The Group has a research team at the Bathurst Library on the 4th Tuesday afternoon from 1 pm to 3 pm to assist members and the public with their family history research.
