Backing Up Your Files

Family Historian spend considerable time researching their ancestry, collecting vital records and building family trees. Backing up your research is an important step in preserving your family tree research.

If possible follow the 3-2-1 rule. Three copies: two stored on different storage devices, and one copy located off-site.

Listen to Leo Laporte below from the TWiT Tech Podcast Network as he explains the 3-2-1 backup strategy from Peter Krogh’s DAM book as the best way to keep a robust backup of your hard drive.
